8/18/20 Day 104: Porcupine Lookout (1618.2) to Kelley Stand Rd stealth site (1636.4)

Tuesday, August 18 9:41 pm 18.2 mi

AT 1618.2 Porcupine Lookout → AT 1636.4 Kelley Stand Rd Stealth Site

Weather: Cool and sunny

Trail Conditions: Very rooty, very rocky, muddy spots in between

My Condition: Freshly roasted

Tonight was the first night of our trail family’s roast night series – and being the easiest target, I volunteered to get roasted first. It was fun and hilarious – from weirdo jokes to diet and sugar related humor, all good-natured and well deserved jabs. Puddles said my nutrition label reads 90% high fructose corn syrup, 7% dad jokes/weirdo, and 3% farts. She also said I’m single handedly keeping all the oompa loompas employed. Hummingbird and I overcame our farmer/veggie lover – anti veggie differences, but she reminded me of my slow ice cream eating skills since she’s beat my time (twice). Blue didn’t prepare anything, but she roasts me every day. Thursday is Puddles’s roast night. We also invented quite possibly our new favorite trail game, Name That Farter. It’s the most fun when everyone is already in their tents. You hear it, you call out who you think dealt it, and if you guessed corrrectly you’re almost always greeted by a fit of giggling from the dealer. We thought about raising the stakes – if you guess wrong, the falsely accused gets to raid your food bag or something. Lots of beautiful beaver bogs today.

Post Trail Analysis

Name That Farter would indeed remain a trail classic, and of course we played high stakes. There’s nothing worse than losing an Outrageous bar because you incorrectly identified the passer of the gas. The game works best if you’re camped in a circle. I’m cracking up reading these roasts! The roast series was a lot of fun.
