9/14/20 Day 131: Bemis Stream (1952.3) to Little Swift River Pond (1967.8)

Monday, September 14 8:42 pm 15.5 mi

AT 1952.3 Bemis Stream → AT 1967.8 Little Swift River Pond

Weather: Cold, windy, and wet this AM – we all got a later-than-normal start. Cool, breezy day. Coldest night on trail so far tonight.

Trail Conditions: Not a ton of elevation today. Ponds and moose poop galore!

My Condition: All bundled up! Sore ankles today

Hikers Met: NOBOs Cherry and Cool Guy

Beautiful overlook at road crossing today looking down on the choppy waters of a distant lake with a large island. Crossed by many ponds today, and currently camped by one. Hoping to see a moose! Caught some BIG, relatively fresh prints near the tent site. Sadly, there’s a canoe here but it’s too cold for us to want to use it.

Post Trail Analysis

We all huddled around the fire, wrapped in our sleeping bags and quilts. I had put on extra layers, along with the gloves that Mama Hummingbird had knitted for me. It must've been pretty cold, because this might be my shortest entry all trail!
